The New York Giants had seen enough of Deonte Banks and decided to make a drastic move.
Banks had two strikes against him when he took the field Monday night to face the Steelers, and he received that third one in the second quarter while facing them.
Banks went low and dove at the legs of running back Najee Harris, allowing Harris to leap over him for a pickup of 13 yards.
Once that play was over, Greg Stroman, a practice squad member who had been elevated for the game, was in at cornerback, and Deonte Banks was out.
He would not play anymore during the game.
