It has now been a year since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce went public with their relationship. They have been through quite a lot in the span of 12 months, which includes needing to find time for each other amid their busy schedules and looking for ways to be together during Taylor’s worldwide Eras Tour.

The couple has had to do all this and more under a perpetual microscope with both the media and the fans closely watching their every move.

They’ve gotten used to it at this point. In fact, according to a report by Mike Hammer of Life & Style, Swift, in particular, has facilitated a big change in the way she views her relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs star.

“Taylor’s really making a conscious effort to go with the flow a lot more now and let her hair down,” a source told Life & Style. “When they first got together, she was a lot more focused on the timing of everything, when they’d have their first public date, their first public kiss, what their PR messaging would be. That’s her style, she micromanages her image and always has.”

Public perception has always been extremely important for Swift, and this is one of the main reasons why she’s become who she is today. At the same time, however, it is also clear that she just wants to enjoy her time with her boyfriend to the fullest.

“But at this point, she just wants to take the shackles off and let people judge them based on what comes naturally,” the insider continues. “You can see the change just based on what she wore to the game.

“In the past she felt like she had to dress like the perfect NFL girlfriend and to her that meant head to toe team gear. This time she wore what she felt sexy in, she didn’t wear fan merch or team colors.”

The report also indicates that earlier in their relationship, Taylor, in particular, just wanted to “hide out at home a lot” in fear of making a “public misstep” and face the eventual backlash of the same. Right now, though, the 34-year-old is “determined to stop overthinking things.”

Of course, it’s not as if Taylor Swift is going to go wild and show no inhibitions whenever she’s out in public with her beau. At the end of the day, she still has an image to uphold.

At the same time, however, it appears that Swift has realized that she can’t be too stringent with these things. She loves Travis, and he loves her, and they’re just out to do whatever makes both of them happy — in moderation, of course.
