The NFL is understood to have had a specific reason for taking some time to levy a fine against Nick Bosa.
The San Francisco 49ers defensive end went viral after flashing a “Make America Great Again” hat during a postgame interview after his team beat the Dallas Cowboys on October 27. However, the league waited until November 9 to announce his punishment.
Bosa has been docked $11,255 for displaying a personal message without prior consent from the NFL, a number he reckons is well worth it, considering Donald Trump beat Kamala Harris in the presidential elections last week.
According to a report from the Wall Street Journal (H/T MLFootball), the league waited until after the election to avoid any potential backlash from the new President-elect.
“REPORT: The #NFL reportedly waited until after the election to fine Nick Bosa for wearing a MAGA cap to avoid backlash from President-elect Donald Trump,” said account notes.

“Waiting to fine him was good business for the NFL,” another claimed. “The @NFL are closet Harris supporters and didn’t want the backlash during the election to piss people off and push even more support over to Trump.”

Nick Bosa Has Earned Praise From Donald Trump
Donald Trump has since declared Nick Bosa “a great player” following his win at the polls.
The Niners star celebrated a sack against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday by performing the “Trump Dance,” earning praise from the soon-to-be two-time United States President.
He has also been lauded by one of Trump’s most vocal supporters, Elon Musk, who is believed to have donated around $130 million to the 78-year-old’s campaign, over his willingness to pay the league’s fine.
