Taylor Swift Donates $5 Million to Hurricane Milton and Helene Relief Efforts

Taylor Swift, the world’s richest singer, has donated a significant amount of money to help those affected by hurricanes Milton and Helene, according to CNN.

On Wednesday, Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot said in a statement posted to the organization’s Instagram page that they are “incredibly grateful” for music superstar Taylor Swift’s $5 million donation to hurricane relief efforts.

The storm tore open a significant hole above the third base dugout and roofing material covered various portions of the infield and stadium seating

“This donation will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water and supplies to those affected by these devastating storms,” the statement said. “Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead.”

Babineaux-Fontenot went on to thank Taylor Swift for “standing with us in the movement to end hunger and help communities in need.”

Taylor Swift’s donation comes as Hurricane Milton is barreling toward Florida’s Gulf Coast, expected to make landfall Wednesday evening (US time) as many meteorologists predict it could be one of the most destructive storms ever recorded in that area.

Just two weeks ago, Hurricane Helene slammed into Florida as a deadly Category 4 storm. The storm carved a 500-mile path of destruction across six states, causing catastrophic flooding and killing more than 230 people.

Helene is the second deadliest hurricane to hit the mainland United States in 50 years, after Hurricane Katrina nearly 20 years ago.

10,000-person base camp was set up at the stadium to "support ongoing debris operations and post-landfall responders" including cots being laid out around the field.

Taylor Swift, along with country music legend Dolly Parton, have contributed to hurricane relief efforts.

Parton announced Friday that she — along with her companies Dollywood Parks & Resorts, The Dollywood Foundation, Dolly Parton’s Stampede and Pirates Voyage — are partnering with Walmart for flood relief across the Appalachian region.

She has also pledged a personal donation of $1 million to the Mountain Ways Foundation, a registered charity dedicated to providing immediate assistance to Helene flood victims.

Several of the companies mentioned above by Parton are combining their resources to match her donation to Mountain Ways with an additional $1 million contribution.
