The Boys Season 5 has added an exciting new face to its star-studded cast: Daveed Diggs!

Known for his standout performances in Hamilton and Snowpiercer, Diggs is the first major addition to the final season of the hit Prime Video series, sparking major fan excitement.

However, the details of his role remain a mystery for now.

Diggs is no stranger to versatile roles, having won a Tony and Grammy for his dual performances as Thomas Jefferson and Marquis de Lafayette in Hamilton.

He has also made a name for himself in both film and television, from starring in Snowpiercer to voicing characters in Star Wars: Visions and Amazon‘s animated superhero series Invincible.

“New S5 crumbs… let’s all welcome Daveed Diggs to The Boys family, shall we? He’ll be playing a character in the show. That’s all ya get for now,” Prime Video and The Boys teased.

Although this is complete speculation, some fans do think the actor could portray Malchemical in the fifth season.

In the comics, Malchemical has the power to alter his chemical composition, turning into different gases or liquids, making him incredibly difficult to defeat.

While it’s unclear whether Diggs will be playing a supe or a new ally of the vigilante group led by Karl Urban‘s Billy Butcher, his casting as a series regular suggests that his character will have a significant role in shaping the final chapter of the story.

As The Boys heads into its climactic fifth season, the stakes are higher than ever, with several unresolved plotlines from the explosive Season 4 finale.

Given showrunner Eric Kripke‘s statement that Season 5 will bring the story to a close, Diggs’ role is sure to be a crucial piece of this chaotic puzzle.

John Barrowman reveals he had ‘thoughts of suicide’ after 2021 x-rated ‘flashing’ scandal
“I had thoughts of suicide.”

Actor John Barrowman has revealed that he had suicidal thoughts following the controversial “flashing scandal” that emerged in 2021.

The 57-year-old star, known for his roles in Doctor Who and Torchwood, faced allegations of repeatedly exposing himself on set between 2005 and 2011.

The controversy arose when a former runner on Doctor Who alleged that Barrowman would “get his genitals out on a regular basis,” which he apparently thought was “really funny”.

In response, Barrowman apologized for what he termed “tomfoolery” and “high-spirited behavior,” and said that his actions were intended as humorous pranks among cast members and were never sexual in nature.

The allegations had serious professional consequences for Barrowman, leading to his removal as a judge on Dancing On Ice in October 2021. He also faced widespread backlash and criticism from the public.

Barrowman has now revealed the severe toll the scandal took on his mental health.

In a recent interview with Mirror, he admitted to having “thoughts of suicide” and contemplating self-harm after the scandal.

Barrowman said, “I had thoughts of suicide, going out and trying to do certain things and harm myself, and a couple of times debating how I was going to kill myself.”

However, the support of his family, including his husband Scott Gill, made him reconsider.

Barrowman also shared feelings of betrayal, stating he “lost a lot of trust in other people” who distanced themselves out of fear.

He insisted the incidents were “stupid pranks” that occurred among consenting cast members.

He said, “Something that was a stupid prank that was done amongst cast members and who the cast members never complained, never said anything about, but a narrative was created that apparently I was going around and throwing my c**k on people’s shoulders, which was not true.”

“We had pranks, but they were amongst the company members and we all laughed and had fun. I was being, in a sense, publicly punished and humiliated for those things and also being cancelled.”

Freddie Prinze Jr officially set to return for I Know What You Did Last Summer horror sequel
Jennifer Love Hewitt is still in talks to join him!

Since the new sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer was revealed, fans of the franchise have been hoping for the original cast to return.

The first movie was released in 1997 and proved to be a hit starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Phillippe and Scooby-Doo stars Freddie Prinze Jr and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

The horror movie was about a group of teenagers who killed a man after an accident, covered it up and got on with their lives – that is of course until they receive a mysterious note and they get stalked by a hook-wielding killer.

According to Deadline, Freddie Prinze Jr is reprising his role as Ray Bronson with Hewitt still in talks to reprise her role in the popular franchise.

Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers and Jonah Haur-King are also set to star alongside the original cast.

Freddie Prinze Jr once revealed on his “That Was Pretty Scary” podcast that he very nearly quit the movie because he claimed the director named Jom Gillepsie was “such an a**hole.”

“It was a struggle to finish work every day,” Prinze Jr said.

“I was in pain every single day on that movie.”

“However, it prepared me for this business in a way.”

“I’m forever grateful to Jim for being such an asshole because I’ve never met one like that since… no other director I’ve met felt crossing those lines would be OK.”

“I’ve been prepared for every lesser A-hole in the business,” he concluded.

The upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel releases on July 18th 2025.
