Travis Kelce shared a subtle sign of support for his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, after she thanked him at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday.
The Kansas City Chiefs “liked” an Instagram video the network posted of the “Blank Space” singer talking about himself while accepting the video of the year award at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.
“There is ONLY one person cheering for @taylorswift louder than me – and it’s @killatrav #VMA,” MTV captioned the post.
Swift, 34, sent fans into a frenzy after giving a special thanks to Kelce, also 34, on stage –– and publicly calling him her “boyfriend” for the first time.
“I kept hearing someone cheering from across the studio where we were filming [the ‘Fortnight’ music video],” she recalled while proudly holding her Moon People trophy.
“And that person is my boyfriend, Travis,” she said as the audience cheered. “Everything this man touched turned into happiness, joy and magic, and I want to thank him for adding that to our photo shoot because I will always remember that .”
Kelce was not present to watch the speech, as Page Six previously reported that he had to stay in Kansas City, Mo., to practice with his team before Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
However, the athlete cheered Swift on by encouraging her to “stay on top” during Wednesday’s episode of his “New Heights” podcast.
The “Cruel Summer” singer had a quite successful show, making history by becoming the artist with the most VMA wins. She took home seven awards this year, bringing her career total to a whopping 30.
Swift walked the red carpet alone in a Dior gold-and-black striped bustier and skirt, which she paired with black velvet shorts, black strappy leather gloves, a necklace, and over-the-knee black boots.
