Cameras caught a sad New York Giants fan sending the most relatable text message ever during the club’s ugly 28-3 blowout loss against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Week 7 marked Saquon Barkley’s first game at MetLife Stadium as a visitor. The former New York Giants superstar running back signed a three-year deal with the archrival Eagles in free agency, and he had the pleasure of humiliating his former team on Sunday.

Barkley rushed for 176 yards and one touchdown on just 17 carries in the Eagles victory. The loss dropped the mistake-filled Giants to 2-5 on the year as their playoff hopes dwindle.

Someone who attended the game on Sunday filmed a New York Giants supporter displaying the typical mood of a football fan that we can all relate to: happy one moment, fed up and disappointed the next.

The fan shared a view of the game to somebody and wrote, “Let’s go Giants!!!” But as the game got out of hand, the mood for the fan of Big Blue turned sour as he sent the following text:

“Same old Giants!!! They suck!!! Why do I torture myself??”

Indeed, life as a Giants fan has been rough since their Super Bowl 46 championship-winning season 13 years ago. They’ve made the playoffs twice since 2012, with only one postseason victory to show for it.

Not only that, but the New York Giants have been mostly uncompetitive since 2014. They have finished with double-digit losses eight times and haven’t recorded 10-plus wins in a season since 2016.

Sunday’s loss to the archrival Eagles was just another indicator that New York is a long, long way’s away from contending again.

New York Giants Need A Reset

The Giants’ loyalty to Daniel Jones is a key reason why they have been in disarray for a while, but that figures to change in the offseason. New York can get out of Jones’ $160 million deal with few financial ramifications, and they’re already in position to draft a top 2025 QB prospect.
