A Georgia McDonald’s worker was caught on the camera the moment she realized her customer was actually the former president Bill Clinton.

Over the weekend, Clinton was campaigning for Harris in swing state Georgia to try and boost the turnout of Black voters in the election, which could hold the key for Democrats to winning the state’s 16 electoral votes, AP reported.

On Sunday night, his chief of staff Angel Ureña posted a clip on X, formerly Twitter, of him visiting the burger chain.

Initially, the staff member appears confused, seemingly aware she recognizes her customer but unable to place him, asking, “Are you Joe?” To which he appears to respond, “I’m Bill Clinton.”

The McDonald’s worker appears shocked as she repeats his name emphatically, before crossing over to the other side of the counter to hug him.

They posed for a photo together, and the staff member said, “This is real y’all!”

The clip received 1.8 million views and 15,000 likes, as many viewers expressed amusement at the staff member’s initial confusion.

Bill Clinton Georgia Harris Campaign

Clinton is known for his love of McDonald’s. In 2019, a branch in Little Rock, Arkansas, installed a plaque dedicated to him, which reads, “Both as governor and as a 1992 presidential candidate, Bill Clinton made regular stops at this downtown McDonald’s during his morning runs from the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion. These visits made headlines with national media during his presidential campaign. Thank you for your business, Mr. President.”

During a speech at the Democratic National Convention in August, Clinton joked about his love of the fast food chain and referenced Harris’ summer job in McDonald’s as a college student, which she’s mentioned many times on the campaign trail.

Clinton said that he’ll be pleased when Harris enters the White House “because, at last, she’ll break my record as the president who has spent the most time at McDonald’s.”

During his time in Georgia, he also surprised locals at the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Albany when he encouraged the attendees to ensure they vote in the 2024 election during the service.

The church was not quite full, according to the AP, but a sizable crowd still stood and applauded the former president as he walked in.

The Mount Zion Baptist Church was the first African-American Baptist church formed within the original city limits of Albany in Georgia, according to the architecture and history outlet Historic Structures.

Clinton was also seen at the Georgia State Fair in Perry, wearing his Harris-Walz cap and badge.
